New Moon in Taurus. 5.7.24.

Happy New Moon in Taurus, friends.

Tonight, at 11:21pm ET, we marked a New Moon at 18 degrees of Taurus.

Happening right near the powerful and rare Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Taurus that’s been igniting change, innovation, spiritual awakening, and generally just amping up the collective energy in recent weeks, this isn’t just any old New Moon. . . whatever intentions we set around this New Moon will get supercharged, making this an extra-potent portal for manifestation.

So let’s get into the energy and how to work with it. 🐂

First, a note on Taurus energy. Taurus is the sign of the bull (hence the horns on its glyph ♉️). The key archetype associated with Taurus is The Builder. Linked with the throat chakra, it has a strong association with manifestation. Ruled by Venus, this earth sign is linked with money, food, the material world, and the body—and given its connection to the 2nd house in astrology—it’s also connected with livelihood, as well as our values, self-esteem, and inner sense of self-worth.

In its lower vibration/shadow expression, Taurus can show up as greed. Materialism. Scarcity consciousness. Overidentification with the physical realm. Being overly driven by the lower self’s physical desires. Sloth. Overindulgence. Stubbornness. 🐂

At its highest vibration, Taurus invites us to anchor within—vs. looking for external or material validation to prove our worth. As the inward expression of Venus energy (by contrast, Libra, the other sign Venus rules, is the goddess of love’s outward expression), Taurus teaches us about unconditional self-love. Getting slow in the best way. Embracing Being vs. getting lost in doing.

Esoterically, Taurus is linked with the stage of spiritual initiation that involves transcending our physical desires—aka riding the bull vs. being at the mercy of the bull. This starts with remembering that we are not our bodies; our bodies are vessels for spirit. ♉️

How to work with the energy of this New Moon: New Moons are when we plant the seeds we’ll harvest at the Full Moon in the same sign, roughly 6 months later. So, in the case of tonight’s New Moon, the intentions we set now will be what we harvest at the Full Moon in Taurus on or around November 15th.

With an extra boost from the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Taurus—Jupiter and Uranus only come together every 14 or so years, an alignment so powerfully beneficial that some astrologers call it the “thank the lord transit”—this New Moon supercharges whatever intentions we set and blueprints we hammer out while the portal is open (especially today/tonight/ tomorrow).

So, what wishes, dreams, intentions for what you want to build or manifest in the next 6 months are you ready to speak into the universe? 🌚

And maybe some shadow work, too. Meanwhile, the energy of this New Moon is infused with Pluto having just stationed retrograde in Aquarius a few days ago. Many of us are feeling Pluto’s energy turned inward (which is what happens when planets retrograde)—inviting us to set intentions for our next round of shadow work.

Combined with tonight’s New Moon in Taurus energy, Pluto invites us to witness whatever Taurean shadow material we’re ready to see in ourselves so we can set intentions around working through it in the chapter ahead. Where are we still looking for external validation? To what extent is our self-worth still tied to our work, money, or body? What’s standing in the way of unconditional self-love and anchoring within? How might scarcity consciousness be keeping us from manifesting abundance? What fears are we harboring that keep us from slowing down and Being vs. endlessly doing? 🐂

I’m sending you all good wishes and many blessings in this New Moon week—and without further ado, scroll on down for the 6-card tarot spread/journal prompts I crafted to work with the New Moon energy at its highest vibrations. As always, take only what resonates, and leave the rest. <3

XOXO,

Rebecca

New Moon in Taurus prompts.

Here are the prompts for the 6-card tarot spread I crafted to work with this week’s New Moon in Taurus energy at its highest vibration. As always, feel free to use any/all of these as journal prompts and to skip the cards—and to work only with whichever of these resonate.

  1. What am I ready to build or manifest over the next 6 months that I want to give an extra magical boost to now?

  2. What am I ready to build/how am I ready to put my voice to use in service of the collective good?

  3. What intentions do I want to set re: harnessing technology in service of shared abundance—and/or to further my own and others’ spiritual awakening and growth?

  4. What intentions do I want to set re: slowing down—to create the conditions for being a vessel for my Higher Self, vs. getting lost in endlessly doing?

  5. What am I on the brink of innovating that I want to give an extra boost to now?

  6. What intentions do I want to set for my next chapter of shadow work? (Where am I still looking for external validation? To what extent is my self-worth still tied to my work, money, or body? How might scarcity consciousness be holding me back from manifesting abundance? What blocks to unconditional self-love are surfacing now?)

BONUS: Where is Taurus in your chart? If you’re familiar with the 12 houses in astrology, you can go even deeper with New Moon intention-setting by knowing which house Taurus occupies in your chart. Whichever house Taurus occupies is the area of life where you’re being invited to set intentions for the next 6 months.

(Ex: 18 degrees Taurus falls in the 5th house of my chart, so I’m setting intentions around my creative projects with this New Moon.)

Here’s a cheat sheet of keywords associated with the 12 houses:

1st house: the self, approach to life, body, appearance, personality, self-development, self-mastery

2nd house: livelihood, money and how you make it, material resources, self-esteem/self-worth, grounding

3rd house: teaching, communicating, siblings/extended/chosen family, daily routines and schedules, lower mind, integrating into 3D

4th house: home, family, foundation, roots, ancestry, history, self-care, base of operations, your private life

5th house: creative projects, play, pleasure, children, actualization of the higher self through creativity

6th house: work, service, health/healing, mentoring, be here now

7th house: the other, committed relationships and partnerships

8th house: other people’s money, shared resources, spiritual rebirth, regeneration, letting go

9th house: higher ed, politics/policy/law, long-distance travel, foreign languages/cultures, religion, astrology, Akashic Records, spiritual law, higher mind

10th house: career, vocation/calling, what you’re known for publicly

11th house: groups, networks, humanitarian work, hopes and dreams, the gifts you’re here to share with the collective

12th house: the unconscious mind, shadow, dreams, spirituality, soul liberation, all types of liberation work, at-onement

Much love to you all in this extra-magical New Moon week, and feel free to holler with any questions this sparked for you. <3
