Full Moon in Leo. 2.5.23.

Happy Full Moon in Leo, beautiful souls!

I hope you’re all taking good care of yourselves and getting in some fun, play, and fabulousness (whatever that looks like for you!) in this beautiful Full Moon weekend.

As I work with today’s Full Moon in Leo, I’m feeling deeply inspired by the medicine of the Mountain Lion. This big cat’s great lesson is that of the use of power in leadership—the ability to lead without insisting that others follow, and the understanding that all beings are potential leaders in their own ways. Mountain Lion teaches us to stand on our convictions and to lead ourselves where our hearts take us.

“Mountain Lion. . . Oh kingly leader, of sleek, feline form. Touch my heart with courage, then sound the alarm, that I may lead with foresight, assurance bright and true, to carry on the spirit, of the strength I see in you.”

Ruled by the Sun, fiery Leo is intimately connected with leadership, as well as courage, creativity, self-expression, fun, play, the heart, and our inner performer, among other things. And with this Full Moon taking place square to Uranus, which governs individuation, change, and awakening, and in opposition to the Sun in Aquarius, which is associated with innovation, groups, and the collective—I read this Full Moon as shining a light on how we’ve been showing up as the leaders of our own lives; how and where we’ve been exercising leadership for the good of the collective; and the stages on which we’ve been sharing our unique fabulousness through creative and innovative self-expression.

To that end. . . here, with love, I am sharing my thoughts on how to work with this Full Moon in Leo at its highest vibration—and the 6-card tarot spread I was inspired to craft this week to work with the energy.

I hope you find this helpful, and as with all horoscopes, take what resonates and leave the rest!

XOXO,

Rebecca

How do I work with a Full Moon?

In astrology, Full Moons are the time for reflecting on and marking your growth in a particular area of life during the past six months. Just as New Moons are the time to set intentions, Full Moons are the time of harvest when we reap the seeds/intentions sown at the last New Moon in that zodiac sign. This makes Full Moons a great check-in moment for pausing, getting still (even briefly!), and assessing how far we've come (and how much further we might still have to go) in a particular area of life. So: the intentions we set back in July 2022 at the New Moon in Leo are what we're reflecting back on with this Full Moon.

Full Moon in Leo tarot spread.

Here are the prompts for the 6-card tarot spread I crafted to work with the highest vibrations of this week’s Full Moon in Leo in case you feel called to see where they take you as well. (As always, feel free to use any/all of them as journal prompts and skip the cards.)

  1. How have I been showing up as the leader of my own life since July 2022?

  2. In what ways have I been showing up as a leader for the benefit of my communities?

  3. How have I grown as a leader over the past 6 months? What have I been learning about my unique leadership style?

  4. What literal or metaphorical stages have I found (or built!) that allow me to channel my unique gifts and creatively self-express in service of the larger collective?

  5. How have I been bringing fun, play, and joy into my life? How much have I been allowing my inner child to come out and play?

  6. How have I been learning to lead from the heart? What does it feel like when I’m in heart-centered leadership (of myself and/or others)?
