New Moon in Pisces. 2.20.23.

Happy New Moon in Pisces, beautiful souls!

“And I'll always dream the impossible dream
Yes, and I'll reach the unreachable star.”

—Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha

It’s with childlike glee and total delight that I’m sharing my thoughts about how to work with this New Moon, friends—because the monthly Sun-Moon meet-up that happened early this morning in Pisces at 2:05am ET offers some pretty gorgeous astrology for dreaming. . . and for turning those dreams into reality.

While all New Moons are opportunities for setting intentions, this particular new moon is co-ruled by Jupiter—the planet of abundance, expansiveness, and essentially the fairy godmother of the zodiac—and Neptune—which governs dreams, spirituality, and mysticism, among other things. (Jupiter is considered Pisces’ rule in ancient astrology; Neptune is Pisces’ modern ruler).

So, in that spirit, I’m feeling called to work with this Piscean New Moon as an invitation to dream BIG—and to infuse the intentions we set now with the visions of those bigger-than-life dreams. And with both Pisces and Neptune intimately connected with intuition, this feels like a moment to get out of our heads and into our hearts to tune in to what our inner voice has to say about what our wildest dreams might be.

So, here with love, I’m sharing the 6-card tarot spread (which can also work as journal prompts) that I was inspired to craft this week to work with the New Moon in Pisces energy at its highest vibration, to set intentions for making our dreams into reality over the next 6 months.

I hope you find this helpful, and as with all horoscopes, take what resonates and leave the rest!

XOXO,

Rebecca/Astraea

P.S. For those of you looking for an invitation to explore or deepen your relationship with your magical side, this New Moon is it. With both Pisces and Neptune linked to spirituality, higher consciousness, psychic capabilities, and all things mystical and magical, and Jupiter dialing up the volume on all of these themes—there’s little astrology more perfectly suited to setting intentions around cultivating and/or expanding your gifts in this realm.

How do I work with a New Moon?

In astrology, New Moons are the time for setting intentions and visioning new beginnings for the upcoming six months. (By contrast, Full Moons are a time of culmination and harvest, of reaping the seeds/intentions sown at the New Moon.) So: the intentions we all set now are what we'll be reflecting back on at the Full Moon in Pisces at the end of August 2023. This makes New Moons a great check-in moment for long-term planning and conscious goal-setting. And with the New Moon in Pisces, this is your permission to dream big, friends.

New Moon in Pisces tarot spread.

Here are the prompts for the 6-card tarot spread I crafted to work with the highest vibrations of this weekend’s New Moon in Pisces energy in case you feel called to see where they take you as well. (As always, feel free to use any/all of them as journal or meditation prompts and skip the cards.)

  1. What big dreams does my heart want me to bring into reality right now?

  2. What intentions am I ready to put out into the world to manifest those dreams over the next 6 months?

  3. How am I ready to deepen my trust when it comes to my intuition?

  4. What practices do I want to make space for (or more space for) to help me tune in (and stay tuned in) to my inner wisdom?

  5. What intentions do I want to seed for cultivating my intuitive gifts and/or rising to a higher level of consciousness over the next 6 months?

  6. What might be holding me back from allowing myself to dream with all my heart?
